Yes this update, together with the last one (1.20), actually makes the MC707 into a modern classic piece of hardware. The pattern chain is great, the audio routing options are excellent, in fact all the new functions are great. Hooray for Roland! If they can just sort out the problem with loading sampled drumkits from other projects (the ‘not enough memory’ error), make an option for the Mix Out to carry only the wet effects when in multi channel USB mode, and add a means of shifting all 16 notes on a pattern (but not the previous 16 or next 16), the MC707 will be the perfect groovebox.

I think the nicest part of this update is the ability to map the knobs to your own CCs. This almost puts it in controller territory IMO.
Awesome machine:-)

Yes that does work well, and you can do it separately for each track, meaning you can control several different devices. The clip chaining, in my view, is the best part of the update. Since you can specify in steps how long the clip plays for, you could have a repeating drum pattern, while cycling between 4 clips (and 4 different instruments) for an accompanying background pad. The last 2 upgrades have put this machine in a completely different league. You could now, for example, set up a 4 clip chain, with 4 different instruments and 4 different FX settings, sample it straight into RAM, and play the resultant sample back using only 1 drum machine pad! Hope they fix the ‘memory full’ error, that’s the only thing wrong with the MC707 now….

Interesting, I’ll have to try that:-)
Regarding your memory errors. When you get these do you know how much memory you are using? Also, are there any samples in your project that are loaded, but not used in a clip or drum pad? Any samples that don’t have a ‘tick’ next to them will still be using up your memory I believe.
